Strengths and weaknesses - M1.

Strengths and weaknesses of the group in general and work.
One of our key weaknesses of the production would be that we are basing the movie in a mental asylum. This is a main problem since we are in a school and yet have to make the scenery seem like it's based there. This will been hard to conquer. Although, I have an idea where we take a corridor after school, close all doors and put up old wallpapers over the posters, this will make it so that the place looks rundown and that no one goes there.

Another weakness would be that the main actor is myself, I will be in every shot that takes place I believe. This means that I must be present for all recordings. Therefore, if I am to be ill, then we cannot do any work. So, that's why my presence would be a problem. I must always be present for the recordings which means if I'm not, we could fall behind rather quickly.

Although, a good strength of our group would be that we are a small group and therefore, we don't need that many people. It makes things in the group a lot less chaotic than other groups that are making movies.

Finally, another strength for our group would be that our group has good chemistry since we're all friends. This means that we will all be able to work well together as a group with a minimal amount of arguments. Also, we will then be much more productive together and make a good use of our time.

Strengths and weaknesses of our initial ideas.
I believe one strength for the idea of the 'A Nightmare In Elm Street' inspired movie would that it'd be easier since the opening won't require one person, therefore that person won't be relied on for all the filming. Also, I believe I can play more evil characters than ones who should be scared, I feel like it's rather hard to play as scared character but it's easier to be the other. Next, I believe the setting for this idea is much easier, since for an insane asylum we must cover an entire corridor in newspaper which seems like a large fuss and will spend between 10-30 minutes depending on our productivity and the importance of the work.

The strengths and weaknesses of the idea where I spit out blood would be that the movie seems much more realistic. Although, the weaknesses would be that it's hard to maintain a 15 rating movie with a movie where I spit out blood and it's full of gore. Also the contents could damage my body and could be bad for me. As a result it's good that we are not doing this idea anymore.

Horror Movie Initial Ideas - P1.

Initial Ideas.

So for our initial ideas we had multiple simple ideas that came into play. First one of the ideas was to base the movie in a school, with a plot based in this too. This was an idea by myself based on A Nightmare On Elm Street, where the caretaker goes crazy and attempts to kill the children, this idea is similar to the movie because Freddy Krueger was a caretaker that takes revenge on children that he cared for. I believe this would work because changing the setting will take a large amount of time trying to make the area not look like a school is also really hard.

Another one of our intial ideas is based on the main idea we already got now, this is with me as Simon in an abandoned mental asylum but I die on screen with blood spitting out of my mouth, I requested for this to be changed because this is firstly an overkilled opening, plus that means I will need to hold a considerable amount of fake blood in my mouth without showing any of it before I die. Also this may take a large amount of shoots and will be bad to me as a person because fake blood will have to be made with syrup, flour and red food colouring, this would be very thick and sugary and will therefore affect me badly.

Now our original idea is where I am in a an abandoned asylum as a journalist, I look around taking notes and soon get killed by spirits. This is followed up by the friends finding out that he's missing. They go looking for him and are picked off one by one.
